Midland Meals is thrilled to be St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals' Charity of the Year!
This prestigious recognition comes with a significant boost, as the hospital has already raised money for the organisation through fundraising activities leading up to Christmas.
Each year, hospital caregivers nominate and select a deserving charity that makes a real difference in the community. The chosen organisation then benefits from funds raised through various hospital events throughout the year, from November to October.
This year, caregiver Janice McEwen nominated Midland Meals, highlighting their vital work in addressing food insecurity in Midland, Ellenbrook, and Bassendean. Every week, dedicated volunteers at Midland Meals prepare and deliver over 870 nutritious, home-cooked meals to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. Operating without government funding, the organisation relies entirely on the generosity of volunteers and community donations to sustain their operations.
Being named Charity of the Year not only provides a financial boost but also raises awareness about Midland Meals' crucial mission. It offers a platform to connect with a wider audience within the community and encourages more people to get involved, whether through volunteering or donations. The funds raised through the CHOTY initiative will directly support Midland Meals' ability to purchase food, essential supplies, and much-needed equipment, ensuring they can continue to meet the growing demand for their services.
Midland Meals founder Loren Pratt expressed deep gratitude and highlighted the ongoing need for volunteers. Learn more about volunteering and supporting their vital work at https://www.midlandmealsinc.com.au/copy-of-what-you-can-do.
